Piano Tuning is the art and craft of adjusting the tension on approximately 230 strings to achieve pleasing intervals and harmonic sounds from your piano. I use a hybrid tuning method that utilizes Cybertuner for efficiency and diligent listening to confirm correct and accurate notes as the piano is tuned.
Annual Piano Tuning this is for pianos that receive regular yearly service
Extended Piano Tuning if it has been a 3-5 years since your piano was last tuned, an extended tuning is recommended to bring it back.
Catch Up Tuning this is for pianos that have been neglected and unused for 6+ years. IF the piano is older and there are multiple notes that buzz in the bass or individual notes that sound like two, or multiple scattered sticky keys, please email me before scheduling.

Repairs - What troubles your piano?
What troubles your piano? sticky keys, clunkers? Loose tuning pins? sticky dampers, too bright, too dull, pedal issues, squeaks, rattles, keys not level, loose keys, cleaning - dusty soundboard and action, weak notes, notes that don't play, notes that ring, uneven touch, poor repetition, missing strings, rattles, buzzes, clicks, ringing, loose pins etc. If you need a repair please let me know prior to the appointment.

Grand piano action
Caring for the technical parts of a piano is different that just tuning it. There are over 12,000 parts in a piano that influence an individual pianos sound, touch and tone. In the online scheduling system, you can add voicing and or cleaning services to a normal tuning or you can email me to schedule a 1/2 day / full day service appointment for customized technical care. I'll prioritize what technical care your piano needs most, the full service appointments can include most repairs, cleaning, tuning, touch and tone services. If you have a specific request I'll prioritize that. If you have questions please ask.
Touch As a piano is played the felts and leather in the action wear and compact making the action less efficient, resulting in an uneven touch, poor repetition of notes or trills and less expressive playing for the pianist. Service for touch involves making a series of adjustments on every note in the piano action to compensate for the wear and restore proper piano performance. Many times the service can be done on site, although sometimes it needs to be done in the shop.
Tone as a piano is played, the hammer felt compacts and becomes harder, over time a piano will sound brighter or tiny and harsher. Voicing modifies a pianos tone by manipulating the felt on the hammer. I can even out the tone, make it less harsh or brighten it up. In some cases the hammers may need to be replaced to achieve the desired tone.
Hammer Shaping if your hammers have visible groves they will not strike the strings correctly resulting in a harsh attack / poor piano tone. Hammer shaping will improve the tone and extend the life of the hammer. If the grooving is too deep, the hammers may need to be replaced to achieved the desired tone.
Piano Upgrades Key top replacement, new bass strings, replace all strings, action rebuild, key bushing replacement, replace hammers, replace damper felt, touch weight analysis and correction. Restoration and rebuilding services are available, please contact me for further information.
Humidity Control System Installing and maintaining a humidity control system will limit the impact humidity has on your piano. Clients who have the system and maintain it enjoy long lasting tunings. read more here
